  • How far in advance should I book a service?
As soon as a date is set the bride should inquire about consultation. I often take bookings for events up to a year in advance.
  • Why hire a professional Makeup Artist?
It is extremely important to have a professional makeup artist for your wedding day or event. Makeup applications for special events are completely different from your everyday makeup routine. As your professional Makeup Artist, not only do I study your skin tone, eye color, and hair color, I also consider the different types of light sources that will be present when photos are taken.
  • What is a Wedding Day Preview?
A 90 minute session with the bride where we will discuss your vision. I do a full makeup look of your choice, go over our contract and answer any questions.
  • Is a Wedding Day Preview Mandatory?
Yes! Would you buy a wedding dress without trying it on? The Wedding Day Preview ensures that you are happy with your makeup look prior to your special day. Your wedding day is not the ideal time to try new looks, like a winged liner or a bold lip, without a trial run. This preview prevents any unexpected mishaps and also identifies any problem skin areas with solutions on better skin care tips.
  • Can I bring someone with me to my Preview?
Absolutely, I encourage you to bring one person, a bridesmaid or sister, mom or friend.
  • What should I bring along with me to my Preview?
Please arrive with a makeup-free, cleansed face. I recommend that you wear the same color top as your wedding dress. Please feel free to bring along any photos, or Pinterest images that you’d like for me to review. It is encouraged to bring a picture of your wedding dress to help create the vision that you want.
  • What if I’m not getting married, how long does it take for my service?"
Most makeup services non bridal take 60-90 minutes from start to finish. A specific time will be discussed upon booking.
  • I have seen other makeup artists that charge a lot less than you do, can I get the same rate with you for my special event?"
My rates are competitive with those makeup artists who reflect the same level of knowledge, experience, skill and hours of extra training I have obtained.
  • I have no clue what I want, can you still help me?"
Yes of course. I am very experienced in helping clients that don’t know where to start. That is what our Free 15 minute consultation is for! I won’t leave you hanging.
  • I have been to other makeup artists that say they specialize in “Natural” looks but been disappointed. How can I trust that you know what you’re doing and that I won’t look like someone else once you’re done with my makeup?
I get this question a lot. My work speaks for itself. All of my clients come to me because they know when they sit in my chair that they will walk away still looking like themselves with a touch of elegance. I enhance the natural beauty of each individual, not change it. My goal is to give you a makeover not plastic surgery.
  • How long will my makeup last?
Each makeup application will last 8-12 hours depending on the person. While I do not recommend it, I have had clients send me pictures of their makeup 24 hours after the initial application and it was completely intact.
  • I’m ready to book, what do I do next?"
Fill out the questionnaire in the contact section and we will respond in 24-48 hours letting you know if your date is available. If so, A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your special date. We will send you a client agreement and once that is signed and returned to us we will send you an invoice to secure your date.
  • How are you maintaining safety measures due to COVID-19?
We are using disposable applicators, wearing the appropriate PPE (Face shield, face mask and gloves) , sanitizing all surfaces, tools, equipment, and furniture. Due to the new “normal” we are now limiting one person at a time per appointment to maintain social distance. Due to Covid 19 Courtney K, requires prior approval for bringing a guest with you for consultation. For groups of 2 or more, we are allowing additional time in between clients to clean and sanitize our tools and workspace properly, before servicing the next client.
  • Are there additional service fees associated anywhere?
Additional service fees may apply. Please ask for more details regarding travel rates and possible assistants. Any bridal party over bride plus 4, I will need at least one assistant * I can accommodate up to 20. Additional fees apply for Holidays such as: New Years Eve/Day Valentines Day Easter Weekend Memorial Day Weekend Labor Day Weekend Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Christmas Eve/Day
  • What time before my ceremony should I be ready on my wedding day?
It is good to be ready 30 minutes before your ceremony. Brides who choose to take photographs before their ceremony should still plan on being ready 30 minutes prior to pictures.
  • How do I know how much time to allow for both hair and makeup for my bridal party?
For every bride, I personally contact your hairstylist to inquire how long they will need for each service. I then put together a color coded timeline for you, showing exactly how long each person having services will need. As soon as I have all the information for both, hair and makeup, I will print a timeline for you. This has proven to work out fantastic!
  • How do I pay for my makeup services?
Courtney K Beauty LLC accepts Paypal. I will send you an invoice for your payment.
  • Do you offer hair services?
No, unfortunately, my specialty is in makeup. I have a list of great hair stylists that I have previously worked with. I would be happy to recommend them.
  • Do you provide false lashes?
Yes. False lashes are included in your price.
  • Can I bring my own false lashes?
No. To ensure a professional finish to your look, we only use professional branded false lashes. For hygienic reasons, we won’t apply false lashes that have been used previously (even if they have been worn by you) as they may have been cut too short, or aren’t of the quality we are familiar with using. This could ruin the overall look of the makeup we have created on you.
